WORLD-FAMOUS ITALIAN TENOR
Alessandro Safina developed an interest in music as a child. His parents were ardent opera enthusiasts and tried to pass this passion on to their son. At 17, he enrolled in the conservatory in Florence, and a few years later, he was a soloist in some of Europe’s top musical theaters. He won the first prize at the International Vocal Competition Katia Ricciarelli in 1989. His active stage career included leading roles in operas such as La Bohème, The Barber of Seville, The Elixir of Love, The Siren, and Eugene Onegin.
UNIQUE VOICE, NATURAL CHARM, AND CREATIVE COURAGE
Safina’s unique voice, natural charm, and creative courage made him a global sensation. By performing opera arias, he aimed to make classical art accessible to the average listener. As a result, a new genre was born, which the artist himself later named “operatic rock”—a style combining elements of pop music, classical vocals, soul, and musical theater.
Safina achieved great success in the Netherlands when he participated in the concert The Night Of The Proms. The single “Luna” from the album Insieme a te stayed at the top of the Dutch charts for 14 weeks. The album was released in over 30 countries, went gold in Brazil and Taiwan, and was four times platinum in the Netherlands. Following this, Alessandro gifted the world incredible duets with Sarah Brightman, Elton John, Ewan McGregor, Barbara Hendricks, Sumi Jo, and other artists. In addition to his singing career, Safina has acted in films and participated in soundtrack recordings, such as Moulin Rouge! by Baz Luhrmann.
Now, the famous tenor performs on the world’s most prestigious stages—in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, Brazil, Canada, Korea, the United States, France, the Netherlands, and other countries.
