The opera "Eugene Onegin" opens the new season of the Blue Hall
By performing one of the most beloved operas in the world, "Eugene Onegin" by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, 5. September it opens the third season of the Sava Center's Blue Hall. For the first time on this stage, he performs the work ensemble of the National Theater in Belgrade, while the director is Mario Pavle del Monaco.
Based on the novel in verses of the same name Alexander Pushkin, opera "Eugene Onegin" has been captivating audiences around the world for more than a century. Tchaikovsky called her "lyrical scenes", creating an intimate story about love, missed opportunities, maturation and regret - themes that still resonate with viewers just as strongly today.
At the center of the story is Tatjana, a young girl whose sincere love for Eugene Onegin remains unrequited. Her famous love letter, Onegin's rejection, fatal duel and reunion years later form the backbone of one of the most poignant love stories in world literature and opera - a story about love that comes too late to change destiny.
With this title Sava Center continues to build a program that brings to the audience the most significant achievements of domestic and international performing arts, confirming the position of the largest cultural center in the region.
