International Economic Association (International Economic Association - IEA) of the Union of Economists of Serbia (Serbian Association of Economists - SES) are pleased to announce 21st World Congress of the International Economic Association, which will be held in Belgrade od June 22 to 26, 2026. They organize the congress jointly IEA i SES, with SES hosting the event.
IEA is an umbrella organization of national economic associations around the world and a unique international association that gathers economists from developed and developing countries, from various fields of economic science.
SES is a non-governmental and non-profit association of Serbian economists, founded in 1947 with the aim of improving economic science and practice in Serbia. It brings together prominent economists from academic and business circles, as well as the most important companies from the real and financial sectors.
Research and works of leading economists from around the world will be presented during the Congress.
More than 800 economists from around the world are expected to participate, and more than 400 papers will be presented in independent and parallel academic sessions. The program will also include a series of plenary lectures, panels, invited and policy sessions, with the participation of representatives of governments and the business community. Application for works will be open from July 1, 2025.
The main theme of the Congress is: "Opposing World Visions: Globalism versus Nationalism, Multilateralism versus Bilateralism, and Democracy versus Autocracy".
