33. Belgrade summer festival BELEF opens the famous musical “Gypsies fly into the sky”, June 20 u Sava Center!
Belgrade Summer Festival - BELEF will be held 33rd time from June 20 to September 17, 2026. The opening of the festival is planned for Saturday 20.06.2026. at 20 pm in the Sava Center, when the famous musical of the Terazije Theater will be performed, “Gypsies fly into the sky”.
This sumptuous play has been among the most popular on the domestic theater scene for 22 years and will soon mark its 400th performance. In the performance within BELEF, on the stage of the Sava Center, the following line-up will perform: Ivan Bosiljčić, Olivera Bacić, Kristina Savić, Milan Tubić, Nikola Bulatović, Duško Radović, Miroljub Turajlija, Milan Milosavljević, Vladan Savić, Aleksandar Dunić, Petar Đurđević, Predrag Miletić, Jelena Arsić, Milica Burazer, Marija Krulj, Ana Korac, Nataša Balog, Mitra Mladenović, Ksenija Repić, Minja Petrović and many others, as well as the choir, ballet and orchestra of the Terazije Theater.

The dramatic story of this musical is based on an adaptation of a short story Maxim Gorky in which the history of the fatal love between Lojka Zobara i Rade. The Roma in this story contain elements of romantic legends, and the author meets them while wandering through the endless spaces of his homeland. The main characters are devoid of social dogmas and easily exceed the norms of social behavior, because they do not depend on material goods. The musical is accompanied by Russian Roma traditional music and magnificent choreography.
