SYNOPSIS
"You know how they say in marriage, 'for better or for worse'? I think that when it comes to my life, I've entered the 'for worse' part — and it happened so quietly that I didn't even notice."
Richard Linklater's Blue Moon tells the story of legendary songwriter Lorenzo Hart, who bravely faces the future as his professional and personal life falls apart during the opening night of his former partner Richard Rodgers' hit play, Oklahoma! Over the course of 100 minutes, the film unfolds in real time through the events at Sardi's bar on the evening of March 31, 1943. It's a meditation on friendship, art and love, told through a rich gallery of writers, actors and musicians, friends and protégés — a procession of the already famous and those yet to become so. By the end of that evening, Hart will face both a world irrevocably changed by war and the seemingly unattainable possibility of love.
