The legendary musical Don Juan, a passionate interpretation of the famous story directed by the French composer Félix Gray, will be performed on January 24 and 25, 2026 in the Blue Hall.
This spectacular production, renewed in the 2019-2020 season, will be presented to a European audience for the first time in Belgrade, before continuing its tour to Sofia. More than 60 performers will be on stage – 15 players, 11 singers and 2 flamenco musicians.
In 2003, Félix Gray composed the music and wrote the libretto for Don Juan, based on a loose adaptation of Moliere's classic story. Immediately after the premiere, the musical achieved great success thanks to the lavish scenography, powerful lighting, numerous stage duels and impressive special effects, which further emphasize the fantastic elements of the story. Choreography inspired by Spanish dances, primarily flamenco, brings special charm.
The musical was a huge success in France and South Korea, while it delighted the audience in Canada - as many as 200 performances were performed in Montreal, Quebec, Sherbrooke and Ottawa for a total of 350.000 spectators, and a record number of 300.000 albums were sold. The tracks "Fun" and "Women" topped the charts for weeks, while director Gilles Maheu was awarded for best director.
After the pandemic, the renewed version continued to conquer audiences in China, South Korea and Canada, and now, for the first time, it is coming to the European stage - in Belgrade. The audience can expect an unusual musical and stage experience, full of emotion, energy and artistic brilliance.
