Heart Failure 2025 in Sava Center

In May 2025, Belgrade became the center of world medical science for a few days. From May 17 to 20, the capital of Serbia hosted one of the most important cardiology events of today - the Heart Failure 2025 congress, organized by the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology (HFA ESC). The event was held in the Sava Center, a modernized congress complex that is today considered the leading venue for international gatherings in Southeast Europe.

HFA 2025, the largest medical congress ever held in Serbia, marked a new chapter in the international positioning of Belgrade and Serbia in the fields of science, healthcare and event organization. More than 5.500 participants from over 100 countries gathered in the Sava Center, among them the most eminent cardiologists of today, researchers, clinicians, representatives of leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, as well as young doctors who are just entering the world of medicine.

The heart of science in Belgrade

During four intensive days, the participants exchanged experiences, presented the latest data and discussed the future of cardiology practice, with a focus on heart failure - a disease that represents one of the biggest health challenges in modern society. Special interest was aroused by the prestigious "Late-Breaking Science" sessions, where the latest results of international clinical trials and revolutionary therapeutic approaches that push the boundaries of treatment were presented.

More than 80 expert sessions, practical workshops, lectures and panel discussions made up a rich and diverse program that covered all key aspects of prevention, diagnosis and therapy of heart failure. The participants had the opportunity to hear data from the latest multicenter studies, but also to connect with each other, network and create new collaborations.

A vision that became reality

One of the key initiators of this congress was academician prof. Petar Seferović, one of the most respected cardiologists in the region. His vision for Belgrade to host an event of this importance was realized after many years of work and international efforts.

"I have always had a vision for such a large and significant world gathering to come to Belgrade. The Sava Center is the perfect location for an event of this level. Serbia and the entire region got the opportunity to show their capacities and achieve multiple benefits: from professional training to economic and international affirmation," said Seferović.

His words are confirmed by the impressions of guests from abroad who, in addition to the quality program, highlighted the organization, infrastructure, professionalism and warmth they felt during their stay in Belgrade.
