On Friday, February 23, 2024, at 12.00:XNUMX p.m., a ceremony was held in the Sava Center to announce the new ambassador of the Youth Sports Games.
At the event attended by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, a former member of the German national team and current official of the UEFA and Bayern Munich, was announced as the new ambassador.
A short film about the ambassador's rich sports career was played at the event, but the history of the Youth Sports Games was especially discussed. Before the event, the mayor of Belgrade, Aleksandar Šapić, spoke about her at a press conference in the Old Palace.
Those present at the Sava Center were reminded of the astonishing fact that the games gathered more than 27 million children and young people during their 2,7 years of existence. Some of them, from Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Slovenia, took part in the revue part of the program.
