The world-famous Igor Moiseyev Ballet, officially known as the State Academic Ensemble of Folk Dances named after Igor Moiseyev, is making a triumphant return to Belgrade after more than a decade.
On November 8 and 9, 2025, the legendary ensemble will delight the audience at the Sava Center with its signature program "Dances of the World", presenting the colorful choreographic masterpieces of the famous visionary Igor Moiseyev. The repertoire will include the Russian dance "Leto", in which as many as 50 performers perform on stage at the same time, followed by the Serbian folk dance, the Greek dance suite "Sirtaki", as well as other cult choreographies. Selected numbers will be complemented by a live performance on traditional Russian instruments such as accordion and balalaika.
The last time they performed in Belgrade, in 2014, in the same hall, the ensemble delighted the audience. This time, they bring a refreshed program that brings together renewed classics and new choreographic miniatures that celebrate folk traditions from around the world - with unsurpassed artistic excellence.
The national academic ensemble of folk dances named after Igor Moiseyev, known throughout the world as the Igor Moiseyev Ballet, was founded in 1937. Its founder, the great choreographer of the 20th century Igor Moiseyev, combined the art of classical ballet and folklore, creating a completely new genre in choreographic art. Moiseyev's innovation remains unique, and his theater remains an unrepeatable artistic experience.
