Chinese National Opera with the work "Turandot" in Belgrade on June 22, 2026.
For the first time in Serbia, Chinese National Opera arrives with his monumental production of classical opera Giacomo Puccini "Turandot" on June 22, 2026 in the Sava Center starting at 20:00 a.m.. More than 200 artists will take over the stage, with the production support of six trucks transporting exceptional scenography and costumes, a real triumph of stage art and the maximum quality of the Chinese National Opera.
Belgrade performance "Turandot" is part of the worldwide commemoration of 100 years since the premiere of this masterpiece Giacomo Puccini.
The organizers of this exceptional cultural event are the company Verdi opera i International Opera Foundation.
Opera "Turandot" is set in China and tells the timeless story of a steadfast-hearted princess and a brave prince who dares to solve her three riddles. It is a drama about courage, wisdom and the power of love, a work that continues to inspire generations of audiences around the world and leaves a lasting impression on every viewer.
On stage, the audience will see famous artists and creators: conductor Yang Yang, sopranos Liu Yanhua and Yao Hong, tenor Li Shuang, concertmaster Du Xuan with director Wang Hućuan, the leading figures of the Chinese National Opera whose performances guarantee musical, dramatic and visual depth worthy of a true operatic celebration.
This is an exceptional cultural event, part of a major international tour presenting the art of the Chinese National Opera in some of the most prestigious concert venues in Europe. Serbia is among the few countries chosen to host this impressive production, presented in its full artistic and stage splendor.
Chinese National Opera, founded 1952., works under the auspices of Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China. It is composed of an opera and choral ensemble, a symphony orchestra and artists of various profiles who foster a combination of traditional and contemporary art. During more than seven decades of work, the ensemble has achieved a large number of international tours and collaborations, presenting to the world the wealth of Chinese musical culture.
