Tommy Emmanuel – a global icon of acoustic music

Tommy Emmanuel will perform in the Sava Center on November 8, 2026 , where he will hold a concert for the Belgrade audience.

Tommy Emmanuel is considered one of the best acoustic guitarists in the world and one of the greatest guitar virtuosos today. He started playing music very early - he played the guitar as a child, and he had his first professional performances even before he started school.

His playing style is based on the fingerstyle technique , in which he performs the melody, bass line and rhythm at the same time, creating the impression that several guitarists are playing at once. The greatest influence on his musical development was the legendary Chet Atkins , who later awarded him the prestigious title CGP (Certified Guitar Player) - an award that only exceptional guitarists receive and which ranks Emmanuela in a very small circle of selected ones.

Throughout his career, Emmanuel has built a global reputation by constantly touring around the world and releasing numerous studio and live albums. His music covers a wide range of styles, including country, jazz, blues, rock and pop , and is known for technical precision, speed and exceptional musicality.

He is a Grammy Award winner , and has collaborated with an impressive array of musicians such as Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, George Harrison, Billy Strings, Michael McDonald and Jorma Kaukonen.

A special place in his discography is occupied by the album Accomplice Two , on which he presents a series of collaborations with top musicians of various genres.

In addition to his technical virtuosity, Emmanuel is also appreciated for his dedication to the instrument and to music in general. His approach to playing is based on the idea that the guitar can be an orchestra unto itself, and his work is often considered a reference point for contemporary acoustic guitarists around the world.

Today, Tommy Emmanuel is considered a living legend of the acoustic guitar and one of the most influential instrumentalists of his generation.
