Classical music lovers in Belgrade will have the opportunity to enjoy a superb concert by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra from London, which will take place on October 12 at Sava Center as part of the Classico Festival, organized by Skymusic.
This prestigious orchestra, consisting of nearly 70 members, under the baton of the renowned Vasily Petrenko, will perform a carefully selected program: the repertoire includes works by Dvořák (“Carnival Overture”), Chopin (“Piano Concerto No. 2”), and Bartók (“Concerto for Orchestra”).
A special highlight for the audience is the performance of the young, exceptional South Korean pianist Yunchan Lim, who, at just 18 years old, became the youngest winner of the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2022. Critics have since described him as an artist with “magical ability and natural instinct,” and his rendition of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3 has captivated audiences worldwide. A video of this performance has become the most-watched version of the piece on YouTube, with over 10 million views. At only 19, Yunchan has performed with some of the world’s most esteemed orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, and Los Angeles Philharmonic.
